Summer Reflection
Psalm 23
Summer Reflection
During the summer we are reflecting on Psalm 23. You might think of this as a slow bible study where for the whole summer we are going to cover 6 verses of scripture. The idea came from an Abraham Festival event which was hosted at Mark Street. Panelists were asked to reflect on a single passage significant in their tradition for 9 weeks. Then at the event they each shared what engagement with the text had revealed to them and the impact that the time spent in reflection on text had in their life. It was an enlightening experience to hear people speak about how their understanding of a single passage had deepened throughout their lives. It inspired us to look at doing this exercise as a community and see how the same passage of scripture might speak to each person in completely different ways. We are excited to see how continual engagement with the familiar and well loved Psalm 23 might deepen our appreciation of the text and what it might reveal to us about ourselves and our faith.
You are invited to join in this reflection whether you are able to gather in person with others at the church, or you will be reflecting on the passages on your own. The idea of this page on the website is to be a starting point for your own reflections.
Next Meetings:
Tuesday June 25th at 2pm.
After the summer we will come together in September (date TBD) to hear how people have experienced this intentional time of reflection.
