Special Events:
The Pancake Supper was a successful event at Mark Street United Church.  Delicious hot pancakes and sausages with real maple syrup and berries were enjoyed by those in attendance.
The above picture and article was published in the Peterborough Examiner on Feb. 26, 2020.
Family Day Games Night
40 people attended the fun event.  We played Crokinole, Euchre, Yahtzee, and Monopoly Jr.   Hotdogs, Munchies and Cupcakes were enjoyed for dinner and the Movie "Martin the Cobbler" sent us home remembering to live with hope.
Attending this event was a wonderful way to prepare for Christmas.  Many thanks to the joint choir members, the ministers and especially to Faye McMillan for organizing the event and sharing her gift of music.
WOW, what a lot of fun!!  A scrumptious dinner and a wonderful drama!!!  Did you guess "Who Dun it?"  The best part was that this joint adventure with the Order of The Eastern Star and Mark Street United Church raised over $2000.00 to donate to the YES Emergency Shelter here in Peterborough.
Our Strawberry Supper was a huge success! Many thanks to everyone who helped and also to those who attended and enjoyed a delicious meal.

UCW Rummage Sale and Flea Market May 4

Many thanks to everyone who brought items to sell, helped set-up, worked at the sale or helped clean-up. Your hard work was appreciated and you helped turn this event into a successful team effort. Well done! Many thanks to everyone who came to the sale and found their treasures. You too, helped make this event a success.
Christmas Celebration:
On Sunday, December 23, we enjoyed worship together learning more about the significance of the historical Nativity according to St. Luke. The story about the new baby that was to be born gave us much hope for the future. We also enjoyed singing Christmas Carols and using the hand drums and rhythm instruments. Following worship, we enjoyed a Pot-Luck lunch and everyone was thrilled to have a visit with Santa.  Each week during Advent, congregation members lit the advent candles.
UCW Christmas Party:
On Tuesday, December 11, the annual UCW Christmas party and potluck lunch was held in Friendship Hall. All members of Mark Street United Church were invited to participate in the festive occasion. Not only did we enjoy christian fellowship, our appetite was more than satisfied. After our meal, we were treated to a medley of Christmas songs by the the great singing talents of Daryl Bennett, Jay Murray Jones, and Ray Vandervelde
Pastoral Care Communion and Christmas Party  - Our members appreciated the opportunity to be part of the service of communion and enjoyed  re-connecting with congregational friends.
Movie Night - "I Am Sam" and Pot Luck Supper -- Another scrumptious meal and great food for thought was enjoyed by those in attendance.  Here are a couple of pictures with a few attendees.
"Ringing of the Bells"

Cruising Up The River
On A Sunday Afternoon
To commemorate the 90th Anniversary of Mark Street United Church on Hunter Street members of our congregation were “Cruisin’ Up the River on a Sunday Afternoon” on Sunday, September 16, 2018. God provided the perfect weather for our wonderful celebration party!!!  We had a fabulous time on board the Liftlock River Boat – Island Princess while we cruised for two-hours. We thoroughly enjoyed cruising including going over the Liftlock. A tasty lunch was served on the boat. Our cruise was particularly special with the mayor, Daryl Bennett who is a member of our choir, serenading us along with his daughter Julie, son Rob, and grandson Bennett. We truly enjoyed the wonderful Oldies and Gospel greats.
